Insurance & Annuities

Some clients use insurance and annuity products as part of their retirement income or estate plans. Our advisers can help you understand these products and, if they fit your needs, offer them as licensed insurance agents.

How this differs from our advisory services

Insurance and annuity products are offered by Brent Weisenborn through Fiduciary Trust Assurance Group LLC, an insurance agency he owns, and by Chris Halford as a licensed insurance agent. These are not FTPWC advisory services. FTPWC is not a broker-dealer and does not sell securities.

When our advisers sell an insurance or annuity product they earn a commission, separate from any advisory fee. This gives them an incentive to recommend these products, which is a conflict of interest.

You are never required to buy insurance or annuities from us, and you may buy them through any agent you choose.

Any annuity income or benefits depend on the financial strength and claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance company. Annuities may have surrender charges, fees, and limitations, and are not FDIC or NCUA insured.

Credit union referral arrangements

FTPWC has referral (“networking”) agreements with Telcomm Credit Union and Midwest Regional Credit Union. These credit unions may introduce their members to FTPWC and provide space where we meet members. Our Springfield office is located in Telcomm’s Sunshine branch building.

FTPWC pays each credit union part of the advisory fees from members it refers. Telcomm also receives part of the annuity commissions Fiduciary Trust Assurance Group earns on Missouri annuity sales to members it referred. Telcomm staff only make introductions; they do not discuss or recommend annuities. Referred clients do not pay more because of these arrangements.

These payments give the credit unions an incentive to refer members to us and give us an incentive to recommend annuities to referred members. The credit unions are not affiliated with FTPWC and do not provide investment advice. Details are in Form ADV Part 2A, Items 5, 10 and 14.
